big thumb up for trying to make an intro on a platform that doesn't see many. little thumb down for making one that is so plain :/

Sinus scroller \o/ Kudos for that! Needs a music for sure. The code was done by Illusion. I this the same Amiga guy Illusion?

Reminds me very much of Dan's Skid Row intro, this would have been much cooler with a 3D starfield and a chip tune.

Inspired by the old Skid Row intro but lacks the class of the original. I like the scroller font though.

Btw.. music is really a problem on NDS since Nintendo included two CPUs (ARM7 and ARM9). Where access to sound registers are only granted to ARM7. It works though (as you can see on other intros) but it is *REALLY* a major hack. Intros made by Triforce etc.. are made in C using existing MOD replay libs and incorporated in a hardcore way into the original ROM. Well done, but hardcore :-)

Also a big Problem on NDS are the different flashcards which are patching Nintendo routines on the fly within the ROM (well actually NDS files are no ROMS, they are ISOs).

All in all I think these are the problems why we can't enjoy more intro stuff on NDS :-(( - oh and the fact that most of the oldschool groups are absent somehow :-)

Too bad.

This was put on 2 shovelware games as a test but as suspected came back with too many
compatibility concerns which is kinda a problem when games didn't even require cracks, so no excuse to stop them working with modification.

It was expected since LEGACY and some others had already made trainers which had the same concerns and despite releasing many games they never actually put intros onto them, this was the first released game with an intro on by default (VENOMs later ones worked on nearly every card in use at the time). But if LGC had kinda forced the issue and included them from the start maybe things could have been totally different, i don't know..

What is a real shame is the PSP scene never having cracktros by default because there's absolutely no reason you couldn't, every time. A couple of releases even had an invisible loader executable which then jumped to the real game, even a non-coder like me could have attached a completely separated coded intro attached outside of the games filesystem (so it's even kept almost fully intact 1:1). But no one with that type of coding skill/interest seemed to get involved. I considered even doing some basic stuff with LUA myself to attach to games but there's only so much one person could do.

Those venom intros came at an expense... buying 20 different flash carts, and guess the errors without a debugger is not something i do again, pure HELL.

I did a PSP intro and at the time it seemed no groups were able to attach it to their releases, as I am not much of a reverse engineer when it comes to consoles I dropped the idea of getting my intros used.

Anyone have the link to the PSP intro that was posted here a few years ago?
I have seen a couple of trainer menus on PSP via the crappy emulator but nothing good.

PARADOX did a trainer i think. And it's a shame if you did have a PSP intro that we didn't speak... adding it is SO simple. Just pull the LBA address for boot.bin, put your executable right over the top of it and then make it boot eboot.bin. That would work with every game i think.. a tool could have been extremely simple to add crack exec to iso to make it not affect races.

For one game we had a small loader that launched then booted the game up infact, as a firmware fix. It was an unpacked ISO though. But there's no reason PSP games couldn't have intros, the fact they left 2 identical game executables in every title made it practically as easy as possible. I really regret this now because despite release-wise doing so well there's nothing left over.. no trace of any of it.
